A Shropshire vineyard on the Welsh border have launched a new limited Sparkling English wine.

Kerry Vale Vineyard, near Montgomery, opened their wine shop last summer and following another successful harvest they are launching their first Sparkling English wine from their 2012 vintage.

This Limited edition fizz has been produced with Kerry Vale’s Phoenix grapes and has been more than two years in the making. Using the traditional champagne method it has had more than eighteen months resting on the lees.

2012 is Kerry Vale’s first vintage, producing a total of 275 bottles. Tasting notes advise this wine achieves a dry crisp acidity full of toasty notes and wonderfully fine bubbles, which are rounded off with a complex yet delicate finish.

Manager Nadine Roach commented: “We’re very excited to introduce our debut English Sparkling wine. We are dedicated to producing quality wines, and have hand selected only the very best grapes for this limited edition fizz. Our committed partners at Halfpenny Green Vineyard have worked really hard to produce an excellent product.”

Nadine went on to say “At a time when English sparkling wines is receiving world acclaim for its quality with many rivalling Champagne – we feel this is one to be proud of – we can’t wait for our customers to try it.”
