The Glutton Club

Chef Luke Otterburn, together with David Yates from Shrewsbury, join owner and Head Chef, George Cavendish to prepare everything for their menus in-house, from meats and sauces, to fresh bread and homemade pre-dinner liqueurs.

George Cavendish said, “Both Luke and David are great additions to the team as we prepare our new Summer dishes and start to make our own flavoured liqueurs, lemonades and even our own homemade Pimms. David has a phenomenal knowledge about drinks and makes amazing cocktails, his flavour combinations are second to none.

“Our Thursday night steak deal, where diners can choose any two of our 35 day aged steaks and get a bottle of wine for £40.00, is also proving really popular. It’s brilliant to have David and Luke on board to swell the team, who are both as passionate as I am about quality, seasonal produce.”

The Glutton Club started as a ‘pop-up’ venture, intending to open for one month only in November 2012, but due to overwhelming popularity George decided to stay put – and he has never looked back. The Glutton Club is now firmly regarded as one of Shrewsbury’s, and indeed Shropshire’s, established restaurants.

The Glutton Club restaurant, situated next to Theatre Severn in Shrewsbury, is open Tuesday – Saturday 5pm-12pm and Sunday’s for group bookings by prior arrangement.
