Claire Rogers, who owns Crumblicious™ – a cake baking, decorating and sugar craft course business based in Oswestry – has come across a new concept in cake eating, which she called ‘Pushcakes™’. The clever packaging, which allows adults and children alike to eat delicious cakes with minimum crumbs, allows you to push the cake up, replace the lid, wash and re-use your packaging. It is also recyclable and customers can return for a refill at a discount as a reward for being environmentally friendly.

In addition, the packaging can be branded for corporate events or personalised for a perfect party bag. Customers can choose from some fantastic Pushcakeâ„¢ flavours, including White Chocolate & Raspberry, Cookies & Cream, Rainbow and Original, which should tickle the taste buds of people young and old.

Claire says: “As a mum I’ve always found that normal cake cases not only make eating a cupcake a messy affair for children, but also means that cake can go to waste if they can’t finish it in one go. I discovered the concept in America and the packaging was only made available in the UK recently. I saw an opportunity to solve this problem whilst providing a fun way to eat cake and provide a memorable gift for events and parties.

The initial response has been fantastic and I have big ambitions for Pushcakes as well as Crumblicious as a business. The eco-friendly benefits of the packaging design fit in well with my approach to business and my responsibility as a parent.”

Crumblicious was set up just over a year ago and since then Claire has developed a reputation for home baking delicious cakes and cupcakes designed for each individual customer. She specialises on wedding and celebration cakes and is renowned for her skills in creating realistic sugar flowers. She is also a qualified sugar craft tutor, teaching everything from baking and decorating your own vintage cupcakes to learning how to start a cake baking business from home.

Pushcakes are available to order direct from www.pushcakes.co.uk now at a price of £1.95 (RRP) each and will soon be available in local delis, attractions and farm shops. Stockists can contact Claire now at claire@crumblicious.co.uk for a trial pack at a special introductory rate.
