The 2 Stars were awarded to her Dark Chocolate Shropshire Lavender Truffle, made using locally sourced cream and Lavender from Shropshire Lavender base near Newport.

Previously Julia won 1 Gold Star for her Lavender Truffle enrobed in White Chocolate and 2 Gold Stars for her Dark Chocolate Butterscotch Chocolate. Julia makes a wide range of chocolates and truffles by hand using Single Origin Chocolate to give her chocolates a deeper and more vibrant flavour compared to other chocolates made using mass produced chocolate. Cream and other ingredients are sourced locally.
“The Great Taste Awards mean a lot too many food producers, their logo is a recognisable symbol to many consumers and represents so much. The judging is rigorous and feedback is given on all entries which allow producers to work to improving their creations. This year 7482 products were entered, 1686 of them were awarded 1 Stars, 608 received 2 Stars and 114 products received 3 Gold Stars†explains Julia.
Julia creates many different flavours and styles of chocolates and Truffles including Chilli Truffles, Salted Caramels and Violet Caramels which are very popular with her regulars at the Market Hall in Shrewsbury. Bespoke Commissions are also available with Chocolate Shoes mounted on chocolate platters being the most popular.
