Guests sampled their way through a selection of handpicked cheeses, breads and matched wines, each one being introduced by a team of experts including
Tracey Colley of the Cheese Cellar, an International Judge for the World Cheese Awards; Mark Braithwaite of Momentum Wines, supplier of award winning wines to the Coffeehouse; and Sheila Tuskan Sager from neighbouring Shrewsbury Bakehouse who provided the artisan breads.

Christine Appleby, one of the famous Appleby’s Cheese dynasty, was also present, and told guests how they have produced award winning cheese from their Whitchurch base since 1952. The fifth of 7 different cheese, wine and bread combinations served on the evening was a mouth-watering Welsh Rarebit made using Appleby’s Cheshire mixed with stout and mustard. This was served on Shrewsbury Bakehouse’s award-winning Wholegrain Seeded Sourdough and paired with Nostros Reserve, a Chilean Pinot Noir, The food was prepared by Craig Sandiford of House Food Partners Ltd who supply the Coffeehouse with bakery and patisserie products.
Jessicah Kendrick, manager at the Coffeehouse was delighted with how the evening went. “All the events we have run at the Coffeehouse since we opened in March have sold out. We always knew that the town needed somewhere people of all ages could go for a relaxing evening out that wasn’t a pub, club or restaurant and it’s great to see everyone enjoying themselves.â€
