The home team had four possibles on the score sheet with Tabitha Corbett scoring an impressive 38 just missing out on a maximum 38.5 by one slight mark on the steel target plate. All Corbett’s other six shots went cleanly through the 3/8″ hole in the centre of the target. Rich Lewis with a 37, Dai Tom Williams with a 36.5 and Martin Pearce with his 36 helped the team onwards to victory.
Rob Jones for the opposition missed out on his first possible of the season after a slightly wide second shot but still netted a 35.5. Breidden sit atop the league table and Corbett and Lewis are the top two, respectively in the possibles/average score chart with four possibles each from five matches shot.
Unison remain in second spot in the table after a 180.5 point win over Harlescott Social Club B team’s good aggregate score of 171. Andy Lawrence (37) and Colin Morgan (36.5) each adding another possible to their tallies, this being Lawrence’s fourth and Morgan’s first from the five matches they’ve shot so far. Mike Lewis scored a 37 but had a wide first shot to prevent his possible and Marino Pacini from the home Harlescott B team miscued his last shot to miss out on a possible but finished with a 35.5.
Marchamley scored a 161 from their top five shooters on the night to beat Harlescott’s A team who totted up a 147.5. John Evans scored a 33 to beat his personal average and Dominic Spenser saw all of his seven shots into the bull scoring a 36 and receiving a rapturous clap for his hard earned efforts.
A close match between Condover and Red Lion finished with a 2.5 point difference in favour of the Red Lion’s 176 points against the home team’s 173.5. No possibles in the match this time but Matt Knight smashed in a 37 with a slightly wider than preferred second shot whilst his team mate Rob Williams hit a 36 with his third shot being out of the bull. Neal Alderson and Stuart Morgan for the home Condover squad each scored 36 from their seven shots with Alderson wavering on his sixth shot and Morgan having a rough third and fourth shot.
The result of the match between Cock Inn B team and Telepost saw Cock B take third place in the table and their opposition slipping to fourth out of ten. It was a relatively high scoring match with away team possibles for Bob Griffiths (37.5), Aaron Knight (37) and equally impressive possibles for the home side’s Adam Hilditch and Rich Morgan each scoring a 37. Cock B had a further three shooters miss out on a possible by one bull , with Ian Brown and Joe Hilditch totting up 36.5 and Sara Davies with a 36. The consistency took the two match points from the Telepost who were gutted to lose their second match of the season so far.
