A close match at Hanwood’s Cock Inn saw their A team lose narrowly with a 164 against Condover’s 166.5. It was neck and neck for most of the evening but 34s by Stuart Morgan and Ian Small saw them take the match.

Breidden seemed unsurmountable as Telepost took them on at the Abbey Foregate based venue. They scored a huge 183 against the Telepost’s 176.5 with Possibles from Rich Lewis (37) and Tabitha Corbett (37.5), only Aaron Knight from Telepost could finish with seven bulls and a score of 36.5. All three of these possible shooters are now in the top five shooters of the season, all very impressive achievements.
With another massive score of 180.5 Cock Inn’s B team beat Harlescott’s A team’s 156.5. A single possible, from Ian Brown, helped the Cock to victory and great shooting from Rich Morgan and Joe Hilditch who both missed out on a possible by one shot also assisted the win.
Unison were once again triumphant with a great 181.5 against the visiting Marchamley’s 167. Andy Lawrence for the Unison squad took the singular possible of the match with a superb 37.5 out of the maximum 38.5 available. Normally steadfast Mike Lewis, the only shooter with a possible in the Shrewsbury league this season, missed the bull on his first shot but smacked all of his next six shots into the 5 scoring zone. Dominic Spenser and Danni Forrester were the highest scorers from the Marchamley team with a 34.5 and 34 respectively.
Bomere based Red Lion took the two league points from their home match with Harlescott’s B team. Rob Williams scored the only possible on the night with a 36 matching the scores of his team mates, father and son duo Dave and Matt Knight. Andy Williams for the Lion scored a 37 missing out on a possible by a single stray shot on his last of seven. Rian Pacini for the visiting Harlescott B team took top score in the match with a 37.5, a slightly wide second shot meant that there was no possible on the score sheet but it was an incredible feat of shooting. The B team with a 177 were just shy of the 179.5 chalked up on the board in the Red Lion.
The top spot in the table is now occupied by Breidden after the victory over Telepost and they still have a match in hand after an earlier postponement in the season. Harlescott’s A team can still go only one way, and as the season continues I’m certain they’ll get a couple of wins under their belts.
