Charlton v Shrewsbury

Shrewsbury face former Premier League club Charlton Athletic at The Valley tonight; hoping to build on their draw against Coventry.

Micky Mellon has made his 11th and 12th summer captures, with Stoke City pair George Waring and “Moha” joining until just after Christmas. They should make the squad.

Striker AJ Leitch-Smith is still struggling with a hamstring injury that forced him to miss the Coventry match.

Olly Lancashire could make his first start for the club; while Ian Black may appear in the starting X1 for the first time this season.

These two sides last met in a thrilling 4-3 victory for Salop in August 2010. But the duo have not met in the league since a Shrewsbury 2-1 victory in April 1986.

Town’s last away win at Charlton came courtesy of a 4-2 win in April 1984.

New Addicks boss Russell Slade will be without Alou Diarra (foot), Ahmed Kashi (Achillies) and Harry Lennon (groin).

Ricky Holmes sustained a knock in the second half of his side’s 1-1 draw against former club Northampton.

Defender Patrick Bauer had been short of match fitness, but could be given the nod tonight.
