
Shrewsbury will complete a tough week of pre-season games, when Wolves visit the Greenhous Meadow today.
Shrewsbury have a fully fit squad to choose from, with the exception of Mark Halstead who is still sidelined with a knee problem. Trialist Sam Patterson is likely to receive extra game time – to prove that he is good enough to earn a contract.
Mickey Mellon is relishing the opportunity to pit his wits against Wolves: “It will be a good challenge; it’s another opportunity to learn about the group, it’s a fantastic way to end a big week.”
“We know that Wolves are a big strong side, but we want to make sure that we cause them as many problems as we can.”
Wolves’ assistant manager Joe Gallen, played six games for Shrewsbury during the mind 1990’s. Shrewsbury born Dominic Iorfa, is making an impression at Wolves – he featured 22 times for the club last season. And Welsh international Dave Edwards began his career at Town, during a four year spell, he played 120 games scoring 12 times.
