
Shrewsbury are looking for their first home win in three games, when Oxford visit Greenhous Meadow this afternoon.
Shrewsbury’s superb win against Morecambe on Tuesday night, initially put them two points behind leaders Burton. However, the Brewers’ last gasp winner against Southend on Wednesday, has extended that gap to five points.
Town are likely to be unchanged from their last game. However, Mickey Mellon has offloaded two fringe players this week. Andy Robinson’s injury plagued Town career, has ended after just three games. His contract has been terminated by mutual consent. And Aaron Wildig has gone on loan once more – this time to Town’s last opponents, Morecambe; for a month.
Shrewsbury’s last home win against Oxford was in May 2011. Mark Wright, David Davis and Lionel Ainsworth secured a 3-0 win.
Oxford have top goalscorer Danny Hylton back after suspension. Roberts and Gnanduillet may start. Oxford lost 2-0 at home to Hartlepool in mid-week – they lie in 18th place, six points clear of the relegation zone.
