Second half goals from Jon Parkin, Charlie Clough and Elliot Frear ensured a miserable trip back to Telford for the 81 fans in attendance.

The hosts started brightly, finding the back of Telford’s net twice in the opening 13 minutes, both disallowed, one for a foul and the other for offside.

James Norwood was a threat down the left hand side, and former Fleetwood Town fan favourite Parkin was the obvious threat in the middle, given his size and knack for finding the opposition net.

Breakaways were rare for the visitors, and when they did get forward it was with no conviction.

Parkin came very close to opening the scoring early in the second half, but he couldn’t get enough of a clean connection to get past Hall in goal. Freddy Hall was on hand to deny Parkin again only minutes later.

Norwood continued to play off the strength of Parkin, who was proving unplayable for the Telford back line. And the big forward made the defence pay when a scrappy sequence left Parkin free at the back stick to smash beyond 3 Telford players on the line to snap his 17th of the season.

Substitute Stuart Fleetwood came close to doubling the lead, as Telford could do very little at the other end to trouble Forest Green.

The lead was doubled then on 82 minutes when Clough was found at the back post from a free kick, the defender nodding it home for 2-0.

Frear then finished proceedings in added time, skipping free of the Telford defence before sending his shot beyond Hall.

Telford were never afforded a sniff in the game, and they will have to improve if they are to repeat or improve upon the draw they got last time against Grimsby Town on Tuesday night away from home.
