Shrewsbury have lost their last five matches on the road, in all competitions – the last win away from home was on the 26th of August, when they beat Leicester City 1-0 in the Capital One Cup second round. Town boss Mickey Mellon, must be frustrated with his side away from home – with the feeling inside the camp being that in order to cement their position in the top seven of the League Two standings, they must improve their away form and fast. On a positive note the Shrews enter the game on the back of an excellent performance against Cheltenham at home, a game which they controlled, eventually emerging as 3-1 winners. Bobby Grant, on loan from Blackpool, is expected to feature after his was an unused substitute for the win against Cheltenham last Saturday. Captain Liam Lawrence, who replaced Jordan Clark at half-time, may start.

As for York City, they begin life post Nigel Worthington- the former Northern Ireland boss was sacked in the week, after overseeing a disastrous spell which sees York hovering just above the relegation zone. The board moved quickly to appoint former Scunthorpe manager Russ Wilcox – who guided the Iron to League One last season, going on a twenty-eight game unbeaten run in the process – a record for all top four divisions. They could make two changes from the side that lost 3-1 at Newport County last weekend. Russ Penn who is suspended after seeing red in the defeat at Rodney Parade, and Lewis Montrose could be replaced by Anthony Straker and former Town midfielder Luke Summerfield.
