
Tigers forward Scott Mckenzie ended the game with a hattrick including a final minute empty net shot to give the Tigers a much deserved 2 pints. Other goals on the night came from Tigers leading scorer Tim Burrows and a neatly converted shot from the hard working Callum Bowley.
Having collected the two points from the Bracknell game Tigers made the trip to the Steel city to face the much improved Sheffield Steeldogs on Sunday.
Despite battling hard in an entertaining game, they ended up on the wrong end of a 6-3 scoreline. Tigers remained in the game until the final stages with goals from Jaroslav Kruzik, Ryan Selwood and Tomas Karpov.
Tigers player coach Tom Watkins declared himself really pleased with the result against the Bracknell Bees, saying, “The guys played with a real resiliency today, we dug in and most importantly we got the two points. We’ve been playing really well recently and the boys have responded well to what we are asking them to do.”
Next weekend sees the Sheffield Steeldogs making the return visit to Telford on Saturday before the Slough Jets arrive on Sunday which sees the Tigers play two home games, both games facing offer 5:30 PM.
Looking ahead to the two games coach Watkins said, “We are playing with some confidence right now and if we work hard and play our game we are capable of getting a four point weekend”.
