The club has seen an increasing number of youngsters joining the Under 11, 13 and Under 15 age groups this year, taking part in coaching and competitions in a busy season that has been extended to the end of August because of bad weather.
Club coach Tim Reid said: “We have introduced girls cricket this year and that has proved to be very popular, with nearly 30 girls already signing up for next year, when we will be introducing a girls team into the league for the first time.
“The Junior Section is always looking for more members as we already run several boys and mixed teams, and with higher levels of coaching we are hoping to actually win one of the finals next year!
The whole club has received sponsorship from local vehicle rental company Fourways Self Drive of Whitchurch, who have supplied 100 embroidered caps to help the club ‘cap off’ its very successful year and start off next season in style.
Neville Thomson of Fourways Self Drive added: “As a local company we are delighted to support these youngsters and it is a pleasure to see the effort and enthusiasm they put into this great game of cricket.
“The caps are very smart and will be worn for both training and in matches, and hopefully as shades for sunny weather next season.â€
