Police officers investigating an assault in Wellington on Saturday, 20 December, are appealing for witnesses to help with their enquiries.

An altercation occurred at around 1am outside The Station Hotel on Station Road, which left a man aged in his 20s, with serious injuries.
The man was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition. No arrests have been made at this time in connection with the incident.
Officers are working to identify the suspect, who is described as a white man of a heavy build, with dark hair and a dark beard. It is believed he was wearing a red, green and white Christmas jumper.
They would also like to hear from anyone who was at The Station Hotel, or in the area, around the time of the assault and are particularly keen to speak to a white man, also described as wearing a Christmas jumper, who is believed to have witnessed the incident.
