Five vehicles seized and drivers reported in Telford traffic blitz

Central Telford’s roads saw a significant operation on Thursday, 11th December, as the Central Safer Neighbourhood Teams (SNTs) executed a focused traffic enforcement blitz aimed at improving community safety.

The targeted operation, which covered key areas across Central Telford, resulted in several firm actions being taken against drivers and vehicles. In a significant outcome for local residents, five vehicles were seized for various offences.

In addition to the vehicle seizures, the SNT officers reported two drivers for traffic offences, demonstrating the police’s commitment to holding irresponsible motorists accountable. A key element of the day’s activity also included the execution of a speed survey in an area that had been highlighted as a concern by local residents. The data gathered from this survey will inform future targeted enforcement.

The Safer Neighbourhood Teams confirmed that operations of this nature are carried out regularly. They specifically target areas and address issues that have been formally raised by members of the public, reinforcing the importance of community intelligence in their work.

A spokesperson for the Central SNTs stated: “We continue to take firm action against vehicles causing issues in our communities. We are committed to making our roads safer for everyone.”

The police are urging residents to continue reporting their concerns and sharing information regarding problem vehicles or traffic hotspots. “Working together helps keep our roads and neighbourhoods safe,” they added.
