This respected accreditation serves as a powerful endorsement of the charity’s expertise and its unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality, impactful support to the county’s voluntary and community sector.

Endorsing Quality and Impact

The LIQA is a rigorous, nationally recognised quality standard specifically designed for organisations that provide essential infrastructure support to the voluntary and community sector. It thoroughly assesses capability, professionalism, governance, and leadership, ensuring that accredited organisations consistently deliver high-quality, evidence-based assistance. For local charities and community groups, this stamp of approval means they can rely on Community Resource to provide expert advice, practical solutions, and strong advocacy to help them grow and succeed.

To achieve this demanding accreditation, Community Resource successfully demonstrated robust governance and compliance, coupled with strong strategic leadership and financial stewardship. They also evidenced deep expertise in governance advice, organisational development, volunteer recruitment and management, sector-specific training, and funding and grant advice and support. Crucially, the charity provided clear evidence of the meaningful impact its work has on local groups.

Dedication and Strong Partnership Recognised

Alli Richardson, Head of Service Infrastructure and Rural Services for Community Resource, who led the accreditation process, described the achievement as an incredibly proud moment. She explained that the award reflects not only Community Resource’s strong systems and sector expertise, but also the day-to-day dedication and hard work of the entire team, whose commitment to high-quality support underpins all their activities. The accreditation process, she noted, also served to strengthen the charity’s established culture of continuous improvement, guaranteeing they continue to offer the best possible support to local communities.

Ms Richardson specifically offered gratitude to Oswestry Community Action (OCA) for their invaluable support. She emphasised that the continued partnership work, including a shared infrastructure team member role, actively enhances the consistency, reach, and effectiveness of the support Community Resource can provide across the county, strengthening their shared commitment to empower local organisations.

Kim Wooton, Chief Officer at Oswestry Community Action, offered her congratulations on the award, stating, “We are pleased to hear that Community Resource has been awarded the LIQA accreditation — an achievement that is well deserved. It has been a pleasure to work alongside the wider team in providing infrastructure support to the voluntary and community sector. We are proud of our long-standing partnership and the positive impact it has made and continues to make.”

Assurance for Local Groups

Ultimately, for groups and charities across Shropshire, the LIQA accreditation provides essential reassurance that they can rely on Community Resource for trusted expertise, practical solutions, and strong advocacy. This high level of support is vital to help local groups, charities, and organisations grow, thrive, and achieve lasting impact and sustainability within their communities. Community Resource pledges its commitment to supporting them every step of the way.
