Tickets for the award-winning Newport Show have gone on sale – with major plans already underway for great free entertainment at next year’s event.
Recognised as Shropshire’s premier one-day show, the event was named Best Rural or Farming Event of the Year at this year’s inaugural Farmer Rural Awards.
Now tickets and gift vouchers for next year’s event are set to be made available via the Show website from Wednesday, November 26 – just in time for Christmas.
Show Manager Sally Western said: “For more than a century, the Newport Show has been a flagship one-day family event set in the picturesque Chetwynd Deer Park.
“We proudly celebrate agriculture, the field-to-fork journey, the environment and rural life and have long been a highlight of the summer calendar.
“Our visitors know they will enjoy an exceptional selection of food and drink, live music and high-quality shopping.
“We have so many well-loved features—including cattle, sheep, horses, tractors, steam engines and impressive main-ring displays— and we also offer a wide range of free children’s activities, making the Newport Show outstanding value for families and visitors of all ages.”
Plans for next year’s events are well underway – with returning favourites such as the Sheep Show, Livestock and Horse competitions, displays of tractors and vintage steam engines – as well as the Country Sports Arena which was trialled at this year’s Show and proved a huge hit with crowds.
Free entertainment already booked includes vocal group S4TW – Something 4 the Weekend on the Bandstand for the Main Ring and around the rest of the Showground include the Kangaroo Kid Stunt Display, Paws for Thought Dog Interactive Agility display, and the Wyre Valley Axe Man.
Sally added: “There are some exciting developments in our Home & Lifestyle area too – and we’re talking to next year’s TV Chef already – so watch this space!
