A man has died after being rescued from the River Severn in Shrewsbury this lunchtime.

Emergency services including the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford were called to the Kingsland area at just after 12.30pm.
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service says the casualty was rescued from the river using a powered boat and handed to the care of the ambulance service.
The man in his 50s was later prounounced deceased.
Four fire appliances including the Incident Command Unit and the Water Rescue Unit were mobilised from Baschurch, Minsterley, Shrewsbury and Wellington. An Operations officer was also in attendance.
