Police have arrested a 46-year-old man as part of an investigation into the cause of a house fire in Telford yesterday morning.

Firefighters were called to the fire at a property in Oaklands Drive, Trench, at just after 6am.

The fire involved the first floor and roof space of the semi-detached house.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service sent four fire appliances including the Aerial Ladder Platform from Shrewsbury, Telford Central and Wellington. An Operations officer was also in attendance.

Crews used breathing apparatus and hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.

There were no injuries reported.
