A young boy has died following a collision involving a car in Minsterley today.

The collision happened outside the co-operative store on the A488 Station Road at around 11am.

The boy died at the scene despite the best efforts of members of the public and West Midlands Ambulance Services who took over his care after arriving on the scene.

The main road through Minsterley was closed for around three hours following the collision.
