Former St Mary’s Church of England School in Shawbury stands in a 2.77-acre site north of the village, directly opposite the main entrance to the Shawbury RAF barracks.

Described as requiring some general repairs, the property comprises of a steel framed former school with brick elevations built in around 1967. The accommodation is divided into classrooms, a large hall and wc/kitchen facilities surrounded by a tarmacadam play area.

Surrounding properties include residential houses and a new sports complex used by the Ministry of Defence.

“The property would lend itself to a variety of uses, subject to planning consent,” said James Evans from Halls Commercial in Shrewsbury.

“Shropshire Council is shortly to commence a Local Plan Review and expects to issue a call for sites in early 2017.”
