A 19-year-old had his wallet stolen during an unprovoked assault in Telford.

He had just got off the bus around 7pm on Friday 11 November and was walking from Moundway near the BP garage into Wigmores on Woodside.

The man became aware of footsteps behind him but was hit to the head and knocked unconscious.

As he came to, he realised his wallet – which was black and contained a bank card and provisional license – had been taken.

The man went to hospital where he received further treatment for facial injuries.

Officers are keen for anyone who saw the assault, who witnessed anyone acting suspiciously or who was in the area at the time of the incident to come forward.
