An amount of cash was stolen during an armed robbery which happened in Oswestry last night.

At about 7.20pm two men entered the Co-operative store in Castle Street and threatened two cashiers with knives as they demanded money from the tills.

The cashiers handed over some cash but a customer entered the store, disturbing the offenders and they made their escape.

One of the offenders is described as being about 6ft tall, and the other slightly shorter.

Both were wearing black or dark blue hoodies, black tracksuit bottoms, balaclavas and gloves.

No-one was injured in the incident.

They would like to hear from the customer who was in the store at the same time as the offenders, or anyone else who has information which would help them with their enquiries.

Anyone with information is asked to call West Mercia Police on 101 or contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111 or via their website www.crimestoppers-uk.org quoting incident 600S of 16 October.
