A search is underway on the River Severn at Coalport this afternoon after a woman was reported to be seen in the river.

Four fire appliances including the Water Rescue Unit were mobilised from Shrewsbury, Telford Central and Wellington at around 4.35pm.

Update: A woman’s body was found during the search. The incident is not currently being treated as suspicious.
