Dog suffers serious injuries following attack in Telford

Police are appealing for witnesses after a dog was seriously attacked by another dog in Telford.

At around 11.30am last Sunday 10 April a man in his fifties was walking his two dogs at Granville Country Park.

The man was walking along the path when a woman crouched down to stroke his dogs. The woman was with a man and a young girl, and the man was holding a Husky/Akita-type dog. At this point, their dog broke free and attacked one of the man’s dogs – a white, black and tan coloured Parson Russell Terrier.

The Husky was called away, and it then stopped the attack and went back to its owner.

The victim’s dog sustained serious puncture wounds to its back and chest which required emergency treatment.

The owner of the attacking dog is described as a white man, aged between 30 to 35 years old, approximately 5ft 10 tall and of a medium build. He was described as wearing ‘general dog walking’ clothes.

The woman he was with was believed to be aged about 30, approximately 5ft 6″ tall with light tied-back hair. She was described as a being of a slim to medium build and was possibly wearing glasses.

The young girl was believed to be around four years old.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident. Please call police on 101, quoting incident 388S 100416.
