Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault on the Grove housing estate in Bridgnorth on Sunday.

The victim, a 23 year-old-man, left a friends’ house on the Grove estate and began walking along the top of Grove Terrace. After a while, he rested against a metal railing.

A short time later two unknown females walked up the steps from the direction of low town and the victim engaged in a conversation with them.

The offender walked up the steps in the company of at least one other man. As he approached the victim he pushed the victim backwards over the railings resulting in the victim ending up on his back in foliage but with his lower legs still over the railings.

The offender is described as a white man, aged 26-30 years, about six feet tall and of a stocky build. He may have had some facial hair and at the time of the incident may have been wearing a white shirt.
