Harlescott Junior School in Shrewsbury will reopen tomorrow following the completion of a forensic examination of the site by police.
Three people from Shrewsbury who were originally arrested on suspicion of murder following the discovery are no longer under arrest for this charge but have been rearrested on suspicion of obstructing the coroner. Officers have been given permission to hold all three for an additional 36 hours.
The body of the woman, who is believed to be in her early twenties, was discovered by a police officer at just before midnight on Sunday. The 32-year-old man, 31-year-old woman and 39-year-old man were all arrested shortly after the discovery of the body.
Detective Inspector Mark Bellamy, who is leading the inquiry, said: “We have finished our examination of the site and pupils will be able to return to the school tomorrow. I’d like to thank staff and pupils at the school for their understanding and support over the last couple of days.
“We have also been carrying out door-to-door inquiries in the area and there are high visibility police patrols to provide reassurance to local people. Officers are also providing support to the family of the deceased.”
Police continue to appeal for anyone with information that may help with their investigation to call 101 and quote reference 0566s of Sunday 4 January 2015.
