Festival organisers have thanked those who attended the event despite it not being the easiest year with a number of artists withdrawing from the festival due to illness and poor weather conditions.

Events Director, Carly Woodward said: “We have received some amazing, overwhelming feedback from individuals this week including the Shropshire Council who did not receive one noise complaint during the whole weekend and we believe this is due to the new site layout of Osfest.

“We have invested hundreds of thousands of pounds trying to bring something good to Oswestry. In the past five years we have brought to Shropshire: Razorlight, Example, JLS, Union J, Lawson, Stooshe, Hard-Fi, The Enemy, Tinchy Stryder, Union J, The Feeling, The Pigeon Detectives, Wiley, Jaguar Skills, Dappy and Foxes to name just a few of the 400 acts that have played here.

“After the unavoidable issues we have faced this year it would be the easiest decision in the World to never run Osfest again. The positive comments we receive make us feel it is worthwhile and we want to continue whilst the unnecessary negative media coverage and childish statements that some people feel obliged to put on social media does quite the opposite.

“OsFest needs bigger audiences to survive so please spread the word and get behind it or sadly Oswestry may lose one of its very few major event assets.”

Lynn Hughes who has attending every Osfest said: ”I would like to say a huge thank you to Carly Woodward & her merry band of Osfest Shropshire Me & mine have had an absolutely brilliant weekend. The weather & various acts pulling out at the last minute conspired to undermine events but music, fun and laughter won out in the end. I so appreciate having live music right here on our doorstep- so close I can even walk home. Long may it prevail… Here’s to Osfest 2015.”
