The 14-year-old boy, who is local, was arrested on Wednesday evening in connection with the incident.

After being questioned by specially trained detectives, he was charged yesterday evening.

The assault took place at an isolated spot on disused land near the Arc car wash centre off St Michael’s Street between 3.30pm and 4.30pm on Friday 11 April.

The boy who cannot be named for legal reasons, will appear at Telford Magistrates Court on Saturday.
