0

The barriers were put up on Thursday as the River Severn through Shropshire reacted to the recent heavy rainfall.

Flood defences in Shrewsbury are set to remain in place for the time being.

Flood Alerts are still in place for:

– Severn Vyrnwy Confluence
– River Severn in Shropshire
– River Teme, River Onny and River Corve & their tributaries upstream of Ludlow.
– Rivers Tern, Perry, Roden, Strine and Meese and their tributaries

A number of roads remain closed in the county due to flooding:

The B5398 Waymills in Whitchurch remains closed in both directions. The road is closed between Waymills Roundabout and the Wayland Road junction.

Burma Road in Park Hall is closed at the junction of the A495.

Other minor roads closed include Gravel Hill Lane and Sydney Avenue.
