The consultation is being held to encourage local youngsters to input into the designs for modern revamped park in Wombridge Road.

Young people are being encouraged to come along on Thursday June 6 between 5-7pm to give their views.

The session will seek to look at appropriate design and build skatepark companies with a view to going out to tender and to also gain priority designs from skateboarders, in line skaters, scooter riders and BMX freestylers.

These designs will be included in the tender for consideration by companies submitting designs.

A second consultation will be carried out following the return of these tendered designs to choose the final design to be submitted to the local community for consideration.

The proposed revamped skate park is intended to be on the biggest free-flow concrete skate parks in the county.

Councillor Liz Clare, cabinet member for Leisure Services and Culture, said: “Telford & Wrekin Council has now completed the children’s equipped play area at the site and will be shortly be commencing building a new street snooker area and outdoor table tennis table.

“The consultation of potential users in the design of potential revamped skate facilities for Wombridge ensures that their input is valued and the design meets their expectations.”
