The by-election follows the death of former councillor, Lesley Street.

There are four candidates contesting the vacancy on the Dothill ward: Denis Allen for UKIP, Ed Bird for the Conservatives, David Holloway for the Liberal Democrats and Margaret Malcolm for Labour.

Poll cards are being issued to all electors, and anyone who requires a postal vote for the election has until 13th March to apply.

Returning Officer Richard Partington said: “Town council elections like this can often attract very high turn-outs, and I hope that as many voters as possible will make sure that they take part in this election.”
