The council has agreed to provide £10,000 for the financial year 2013/14 to the network to help deliver support to people who find themselves in need of food or other items.
Cllr Clive Elliott, who argued for the funding, said:
“I am delighted that Dawley Parish Council has chosen to continue to provide a lead on issues which, whilst Borough-wide, are so important to supporting local people.
“£10,000 will make a huge difference to the Crisis Network and I want to thank my fellow Labour Councillors for supporting this proposal. The crisis network is being led by Citizens Advice Bureau and Telford & Wrekin Council to provide support to those who find themselves in difficulty.
“I am proud that, once again, Dawley Parish Council is leading the way and showing itself to be a community supporting council.”
Telford Crisis Network is a network of local charities which provide support to local people who require a range of help. The network is led by Jake Bennett under the lead of Telford & Wrekin CAB.
