Front door kicked in during Telford burglary

0

The burglary took place at just after 3.45pm yesterday afternoon. A member of the public called the police to say he had just witnessed two unknown men kick the front door and enter a flat in Beaconsfield.

The men entered the flat and then came back out a short time later carrying a large flat-screen television and a games console.

Police officers responded to the call immediately and carried out a thorough search of the area but the offenders were not traced.

A police spokesman said: “This is an unusual incident as it happened in broad daylight with no obvious attempt to be discreet.

“Further investigation by officers at the scene established that, in addition to the 42inch, Panasonic plasma television and a Microsoft X Box, a black ACER ZD1 laptop computer was also stolen as a result of this break-in.

“The two men who entered the property – who are said to have made off down an alleyway off Beaconsfield with the stolen items – are both described as being white, around 5ft 9inches tall and as having a slim build.

“One of the men is also described as wearing a dark coloured hooded top while the other was wearing a blue jacket and a woolly hat.

“Anyone with information about this incident, or who may know the identity of the offenders, is asked to contact police officers in Telford on 101 or 0300 333 3000, quoting incident number 481S 290113.

“Alternatively, please remember Crimestoppers can also be called anonymously on 0800 555 111 if you’d rather leave information without identifying yourself.”
