A Telford & Wrekin Council spokesperson said: “All shops, restaurants and public houses on the Wharfage and elsewhere in the Gorge remain very much open for business as normal and car parks are also open.
“There is now partial parking available along The Wharfage between The Museum of the Gorge and the junction of New Road.
“We will continue to monitor the situation very closely and publish further updates as soon as these are available and thank residents, businesses and visitors to the Gorge for their understanding during this very sustained period of heavy rain.”
The River Severn through Shropshire remains on Flood Alert with Flood Warnings in place at the Showground and The Quarry in Shrewsbury, Ironbridge and Jackfield and Quatford.
In Shrewsbury, Frankwell Main Long Stay Car Park remains closed due to high river levels. Frankwell Riverside Car Park and Saint Julian’s Friars is also closed.
Gravel Hill Lane, Sydney Avenue, Chilton Farm Lane at Atcham and the Atcham to Cross Houses Road are closed due to flooding.
