A Telford & Wrekin Council Spokesman, said: “Although flood barriers remain in place in the Gorge, shops, restaurants and public houses are very much open as normal.
“Parking is still available in the Gorge with partial parking available along The Wharfage between the museum of Iron and the junction of New Road.
“Like many areas across the country, the River Seven is an area that is affected by severe rainfall. With the expected bad weather on its way, we are continuing to take precautions to protect our residents. Therefore the flooding barrier will remain in place to ensure that our communities remain safe and our infrastructure is protected.”
In Shrewsbury, Frankwell Riverside car park is open, whilst Frankwell main car park is partially open.
