Police officers based at Madeley Police Station executed the warrants at two addresses on Stebbings at just after 7.30am on Monday 26 November.

On entering the addresses officers discovered several cannabis plants in both, as well as other items related to the production of Class B drugs.

At the first address a 22-year-old man and 43-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of the production and possession of Class B drugs. Both individuals received a police caution later in the day.

At the second address a 38-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of the production of Class B drugs. The man has since been charged with this offence, while the woman has been released without charge and will face no further action.

Speaking about this operation, PC Becky James, from the Cuckoo Oak and Ironbridge Safer Neighbourhood Team, said:

“As a result of intelligence and information received from members of the public, two successful warrants were executed under the Misuse of Drugs Act at addresses on Stebbings in Sutton Hill.

“I hope this sends out a clear message that we will continue to pursue those involved in the possession and supply of drugs. West Mercia Police take drug crime very seriously and act on any information received from members of the public.

“Anyone who has any concerns regarding drug crimes can either call us direct on 0300 333 3000, or they can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

“We recognise that some people do not want to get involved or to give their name, so Crimestoppers provides the means for anyone to pass information about suspicious activity or crime with a guarantee of anonymity.

“It is important that people call us with information, because it is ultimately the help of the public that enables us to carry out operations and make arrests, therefore helping us to disrupt, prevent and detect crime.”
