Northern Trust Company Ltd, which is working with the landowner has already met with a number of community groups and councillors to gauge their thoughts on the site, and is now turning its attentions to local residents and the wider community.
Northern Trust’s proposals for the Shawbirch Road site are at an early stage in the planning process and nothing has been finalised. However, it is envisaged that the site could deliver:
– Enhanced public transport and highways improvements
– Biodiversity improvements and enhancements to the setting of the SSSI
– An employment hub providing flexible office accommodation and business support
– The remediation and redevelopment of a brownfield site
– A sustainable, mixed use community including affordable and market housing
– Substantial investment in the site and local economy
– Improvements and enhancement to local sports facilities
– New public open space and play facilities
– New jobs created during the site’s construction period
– Potential employment uses on site following its development
– A New Homes Bonus contribution to the local area
A spokesperson for Northern Trust said: “This is an important site and establishing its future is a decision which needs the community’s input. We hope that residents will let us know their views now and over the coming months, which will help us to shape this site into one which benefits the surrounding area and beyond.”
A public exhibition is taking place today between 3pm and 7pm at Allscott Sports and Social Club, Shawbirch Road, TF6 5EZ and tomorrow between 1pm and 7pm Admaston House Community Centre, Wellington Road, Admaston, Telford TF5 0BN.
