Police release E-Fit of Shawbirch attacker

The 43 year-old victim was assaulted as she went to feed the ducks in a wooded area off Oakfield Road in Shawbirch at around 2.40pm on Wednesday 18 July.

She was approached by the offender, who asked her for money. When she refused he became aggressive and pulled her off her mobility scooter onto the floor.

He searched her pockets before punching and kicking her while she was on the ground.

The offender made off from the scene empty handed and the woman dialled 999.

She was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Detective Sergeant Matthew Gibbons said: “This was a very nasty, unprovoked incident on a vulnerable woman and we are anxious to trace the offender.

“I am appealing to people to contact Telford police station by calling 101 if they recognise who this man is from the picture.”

The man is described as having shaved brown hair, freckles on his nose and cheek area and stubble at the time of the incident. He was wearing dark blue jeans and a black hooded Nike top with the ‘tick’ emblem on the chest.
