Three injured in A49 collision near Leebotwood

A woman believed to be in her mid 20’s suffered serious injuries and was treated at the scene before being transferred by ambulance to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital for further emergency treatment.

A second woman, in her mid 50’s, suffered neck injuries, the woman was released from the car with the roof and doors being removed by Shropshire Fire and Rescue. She was immobilised using a spinal board and neck collar and transferred by ambulance to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. The woman was trapped for around 40 minutes.

A man believed to be in his mid 60’s, suffered multiple minor injuries. He was transferred by ambulance to University Hospital North Staffordshire for further assessment and treatment.

Three ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance with a Doctor on board attended the scene.
