Local businesses have donated prizes to the Shrewsbury cinema totalling nearly £400 for the cause.

From 6.30pm on Friday a staff member will be dressing up as The Hulk to sell raffle the tickets, 1st Prize is estimated at £200 and 2nd prize is estimated at £170.

On Saturday, Movies for Juniors will have a superhero theme with face painting from 11am and a tombola.

Cineworld Shrewsbury visitors will also have the chance to win Avengers Assemble merchandise when they buy an Avengers Combo. To enter they need to put their contact details on their receipt and drop them into the Avengers collection box on the concessions counter, a winner will be drawn from the box.

Shrewsbury businesses that have donated to the fundraising event include AMF Bowling, Beauty And The Beach, Body Tec, Bright Motors, Infinity & Beyond, Nandos, Pizza Express, Totally Games, Good Life, Morgans, Pink Pooches and SY1 Hair.

Cinema manager Jon Cox said: ”We have had great support from local businesses in Shrewsbury for this fundraising weekend.

“I’m looking forward to our customers and team raising some much needed money for the Cancer Research UK.”
