Their ‘Wrekin Challenge’ will take place on Sunday March 25th, when they will fully immobilise one of their own volunteers and carry them to the summit 1,350ft above the Shropshire plains.
The climb will begin at midday at the base car park. Helping them will be volunteers from West Midlands 4×4 who will bring six vehicles, two of which will follow the walkers.
Co-ordinator Steve Brown said: “The objective is to raise sponsorship to purchase equipment for our scheme now that our group has grown to 26 responders. We have already raised £2,500 and look forward to raising even more money on the day in the collecting buckets we will be carrying with us.
“Equipment such as medical kits, defibrillators and uniforms and to keep our scheme vehicle running 24×7 are all the items that we plan to spend the sponsorship money on.â€
To sponsor them, call Telford & Wrekin CFR scheme co-ordinator Steve Brown on 07974 116728
