Thieves entered a property by climbing through an insecure upstairs window at an address in Harding Wood in Lightmoor and carried out a thorough search of all rooms.

Other items stolen include a Toshiba laptop, a camera and a money belt containing a passport.

Police are investigating the burglary, which occurred between 10.15am and 2.15pm on Monday, and are appealing to anyone with information about the incident or the whereabouts of the stolen items to come forward.

A Telford Police spokeswoman said: “The jewellery is of sentimental value and the owner is desperate to get it back.

“If you have any information at all then we would urge you to contact us.

“The burglary occurred during the day so we are hoping that somebody saw or heard something that could help us with our enquiries.”
