CCTV images released following Telford robbery

An 18 year-old man was robbed of his mobile phone as he visited the cash point on the Asda store car park in Telford Town Centre at around 11pm.

As he stood by the machine he was approached by a group of males who asked him for a cigarette.

He gave members of the group cigarettes and they all began chatting.

As the group started to walk away together with the victim, one of the members threatened the 18 year-old victim and demanded he handed over his mobile phone.

The victim felt in fear of the threats and handed his phone – an Apple iphone 4 – over. The suspect and other members of the group all ran towards the car park exit.

Police are investigating the matter and have identified some individuals they would like to speak to. The individuals pictured on the CCTV were in the area at the time and may have witnessed the robbery.

Officers are urging anyone with information in relation to the identity of those pictured to come forward.

A Telford Police spokeswoman said: “We are eager to identify these individuals pictured in the CCTV.

“We believe they could have information which could help us with our enquiries.

“The individuals were in the vicinity shortly before the incident occurred and we are hoping they will they will be able to assist with our investigation.

“If this is you pictured in the CCTV, or you know who these people are, then please come forward and speak to us.”

The incident occurred at around 11pm on Saturday 24 December last year.
