The car was travelling along Robert Jones Way in Battlefield when it left the road and ended up in a field shortly after 2am this morning.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “When crews arrived they found a car in a field approximately 40 metres from the road.

“A man in his 50s was out of the car and had suffered abdominal and arm injuries. He was given pain relief and stabilised on scene by crews before being taken to hospital for further treatment.

“A woman and man, believed to be in their 20s, were trapped in the car and had to be released with help from the fire service.

“The woman suffered chest injuries and the man had a head injury and multiple minor injuries.”

All three were taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
