Dawley traffic issues tackled by police

The Local Policing Team is warning motorists they will continue to focus on these issues until they are resolved and that anyone ignoring their warnings can expect to be reported for that offence or potentially receive a Fixed Penalty Notice.

PC Pete Oakley, Local Police Officer for Dawley said:

“Dawley High Street is a restricted parking zone and parking is only allowed in the marked bays. Any vehicle that we find parked on the pavement will either be reported for that offence or will receive a Fixed Penalty Notice and £30 fine.

“Motorists who ignore the ‘no entry’ signs on King Street will also be running the risk of punishments should they be spotted by police officers.

“Over the past four weeks we have already issued almost 50 tickets to vehicles that have either contravened the ‘no entry’ signs on King Street or been found parked on the pavement on the High Street and I would warn motorists that we will continue to enforce these regulations.

“Many local people have expressed concerns about these issues and therefore it is only right we do all we can to address the concerns.

“I really hope motorists heed our warnings and start to adhere to the regulations that are in place. We really would prefer not to be issuing tickets and warnings but in the short-term we will continue to do so until the situation in Dawley improves.”
