Appliances from Newport, Hodnet, Market Drayton, Wellington and Bridgnorth along with two operational officers attended the blaze at Howle, Newport.

The fire involved approximately 2,000 tonnes of straw, hose reel jets were used to put out the fire with water being pumped from an open water source.

Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service were called to the fire at 10.23pm and remained at the scene for much of the night.
