The motorcyclist was found lying in a ditch with his blue Yamaha motorcycle in the middle of the road on the B5062 near the entrance to Shrewsbury Rugby Club at around 1am on Sunday.

The motorcyclist, a man in his twenties, was taken to hospital with a broken wrist, fractured knee and cut to his forehead.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: “An appeal is being made for anyone who may have spotted this motorcyclist immediately before he crashed, to contact Shrewsbury police station on 0300 333 3000.”

No other vehicle is thought to have been involved.
