Midfielder Nicky Wroe and striker Marvin Morgan performed the honours at the West Brom in High Street, Shrewsbury, and received a special £6,841 bonus on behalf of the football club.
The donation comes from the annual proceeds of the West Brom’s Amber Blue Saver affinity account, the savings account which is available exclusively to the club’s supporters.

The bonus is paid each year to Shrewsbury Town based on the average balance held in all accounts and will go towards the club’s development.
Jayne Tomkinson, the new branch manager at Shrewsbury, said: “As a building society which is close to its community roots we are delighted to support the Shrews. The Amber Blue Saver is a great way for fans to save for themselves and back their club.
“I am sure all our customers will also appreciate the improvements at the branch. The upgrade has created a stylish, modern look with facilities designed to raise our standard of service.â€
Jayne understands the importance of customer service. She ran her own independent travel agency in Market Drayton for 18 years before switching careers. She has joined the West Brom after working for three and a half years for another local building society, most recently as a savings investment adviser.
“I have been made very welcome at Shrewsbury and I look forward to meeting more of our members and attracting new ones with the range of products and services we offer,†Jayne added.
To celebrate the branch’s new look a prize draw is running for a month where anyone visiting can win £200. The modernised premises now include power-assisted entry doors, a welcome desk, new counters and an increased number of private consultation areas.
There is also a distinctive browser wall and plasma screen to help keep customers informed of new products and services.
